Roger Federer will take on the challange of French Gilles Simon in the 4th Round on Sunday, June 2.
Roger Federer has defeated Simon in the last three meetings on hard courts and clay.
However, it it possible to see that Federer can be defeated by big hitters who on their day and manage to keep unforced errors under control. Though, Simon does not play that style. He sends back opponent’s shots by diverting the ball to the other corner of the court, in other words just reflecting. This means, his game is quite predictable.
Simon was pretty successful with his style five years ago when he entered into the top 10 and defeated Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in 2008. Since then, his quality of play has significantly gone down and he has had no victories over the top 4. Simon probably will have the home advantage. However, Federer has had no disadvantage playing in any part of the globe against any opponent.
